Join us in a morning of imagination and fun, author and improvisational storyteller Shinji Ishii will create a story inspired by the exhibition, Mars. Children will explore space and learn how to sketch in a short drawing exercise. (Japanese).
Shinji Ishii was born in Osaka in 1966. He graduated from Kyoto University French Literature Department. His debut novel was A dog in Amsterdam. In 2003 he received the literary prize, Joji Tsubota with his novel Kutze, the Wheat Trader and also was also awarded the Sakunosuke Ono with One day. His other novels include, Sitting in a swing, and 4 and more other countries. Shinji has been preforming improvisational novels for many years and also writes the essay Shinji’s food among others.

作家いしいしんじによる、イマジネーションあふれる楽しい世界へ遊びにきませんか？いしいしんじが、展覧会場である「火星-未知なる地表」から着想を得て、その場で物語をつくりだします。そのあとは、宇宙空間の描き方の短いエクササイズを楽しみながら、自分だけの宇宙空間を完成させましょう。（日本語）
いしいしんじ
1966年大阪生まれ。京都大学文学部仏文科卒業。1994年『アムステルダムの犬』でデビュー。
2003年『麦ふみクーツェ』で第18回坪田譲治文学賞を、『ある一日』で織田作之助賞を受賞。小説に『ぶらんこ乗り』、『四とそれ以上の国』他、エッセイに『いしいしんじのご飯日記』他多数がある。
